Harry Steinman’s life experience includes stints as a box boy in a toilet paper factory, security guard, a recruiter in a toy factory, a hippie commune leader, a substitute math teacher, an accountant, a New Age religious community troublemaker, and dog trainer–the perfect pedigree of a novelist.

Matt Thornton is a martial artist who is credited as being one of the first American-born athletes to receive a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He is also well known throughout the fighting community for introducing the concept of “aliveness” to training.
